People of Pioneer: Leo Gabaron
“Both of my parents speak French, and I speak fluent French. At home, it is all we speak. It is kind of nice because I can speak in French. However, when I was young I had a hard time separating languages. I spoke ‘Franglish’. This summer I was able to spend two months in France. Everything is different there; the way of life, the hours people work, and their attitude. The way that young people interact is different and society is very different. I think I have grown intellectually more in 3 years of high school than 3 years of middle school, and my language has been a big part of that.”
