Five movies to look forward to this summer

With summer fast approaching, some students will be looking at a lot of free time on their hands. Here are five great movies that everyone should watch. 

Jurassic World: Dominion on June 10th 

The grand finale for the new Jurassic Park franchise, Jurassic Park: Dominion shows the human race struggling to coexist with the dinosaurs that they’ve created. Starring big names like Chris Pratt and returning cast members like Sam Neil and Laura Dern, this movie will be exciting for any Jurassic Park fans, new or old.

Nope on July 22nd 

Director Jordan Peele (Us, Get Out) makes his much anticipated return with Nope, a new horror/thriller about owners of a horse ranch who encounter a strange entity that affects both human and animal behavior in odd ways. Any horror fans should definitely keep an eye out for Nope along with anything Jordan Peele does in the future.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on May 6th

Marvel fans should definitely look forward to the Doctor Strange sequel coming out this May. Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) begins using forbidden magic that opens a portal with villains who may be too much for him to handle on his own. This may be one of the biggest movies coming out this summer.

Top Gun: Maverick on May 27th

Fans of the 1986 Top Gun movies can anticipate Top Gun: Maverick. 

Pete Mitchell (Tom Cruise) has served as one of the Navy’s top aviators. He must begin confronting his past while he trains a group of graduates for a life or death mission that will require great sacrifice. This movie may not be too big for younger audiences, as it promises a fun experience to see on the big screen.

Elvis on June 24

Following the biopic trend, the next big one to come out this summer will be Elvis. Austin Butler will be playing the famous Elvis Presley on the big screen, documenting his rise to fame and how he affected the music world forever. Any fans of 70s music or anyone just looking to learn more about one of the biggest artists of all time should plan on watching this movie.
