U.S. Army vehicle visits auto shop class

Pioneer’s  auto shop class had a visit from an Oshkosh MRAP all-terrain vehicle Thursday, Dec. 15. MRAP stands for Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected.  The truck was driven to Ann Arbor from Taylor by truck manager Dylan Frazier and truck driver Heriberto Jauregui, of the U.S. Army. The four year old tank was once stationed in Kuwait as a supporting vehicle. It carries four passengers at a time and is equipped with a 50-caliber machine gun. The visit was initiated by Kenneth Lewis, the auto shop teacher,  so the class could investigate the inner workings of the ATV and learn how real world Army vehicles operate.
