One of the most rewarding aspects of my high school experience was the opportunity to support younger students in AAPS through my club, Pioneer Girl Up. As a group, we visit elementary school classrooms—many of which we once attended—and conduct science experiments with the students. Our goal is to inspire them, especially young girls, to pursue science in the future. I remember looking up to older high school students as role models when I was their age, so it has been super exciting to have the opportunity to switch roles and work alongside my fellow club members to empower younger students and promote equity in STEM.
